Beseda 2016: Russian Culture Old and New, Tradition and Evolution

The seminar will be held at Waseda University (Tokyo) on Saturday, December 3, 2016.

The aim of the seminar is to reflect upon several aspects of Russian literature and culture from the viewpoint of the interaction of Old and New, or tradition and evolution. In order to make our disscusion more fruitful, we will invite five speakers who are specialists in various time periods and research fields from Russia and Japan. It is hoped that the resulting dialogue between these experts will help open up new avenues of study and create some interesting findings. We welcome all who have interest in this subject.
